Description
*️⃣Do you ever feel panicked when someone asks you to make a book recommendation? Maybe the reader is asking about an unfamiliar author or a genre you don’t read. Perhaps you’re covering a break for a coworker in a different department, or it’s a busy time at your library while you’re short on staff.
By implementing a few quick tips, anyone working with readers can make meaningful reading recommendations and enhance customer service. In this course, you’ll learn strategies for helping readers find books they love and customer service principles that will keep them coming back for more. You’ll also hear from library staff addressing common reader scenarios and see how the power of NoveList can save you time and build your confidence.
*️⃣ Learning objectives:
- How to provide exceptional customer service by focusing on the patron experience;
- How to recommend books when you’re short on time;
- How to use NoveList to find books readers will enjoy.
*️⃣ This course will take the average learner about 2 hours total to complete and will prepare all staff to recommend books by giving them an understanding of reader engagement.
